NOTE: it is part of our normal human response to feel anxious sometimes - it is part of our stress/ 'fight and flight' response in relation to times we feel threatened or are doing something for the first time or that is difficult or dangerous.
Fact: some anxiety is beneficial and sharpens our responses and improves our performance, say in an exam or public speaking.
Anxiety stress symptoms can be related to something specific like a phobia or belief, a situation, a person or an activity . In this case the result is usually a short-term response within minutes or hours that lasts a short period of time and then declines.
The cause of anxiety is an unusually big rise in adrenalin which drives a whole series of quite 'normal' bodily responses, which if you really were under threat would be useful.
However, in the busy challenging world you live in these threats are mostly mental and the feelings serve little purpose and just make us feel bad.
However, if symptoms persist much of the time, or last for longer periods, and there is no specific cause you may be suffering from general anxiety disorder or stress. A common example is that you may worry most of the time that something will go wrong. General anxiety disorder occurs in a good 10% of people.
IMPORTANT: Check with your doctor if you experience any of the symptoms above. Although anxiety maybe the cause, there are other medical causes that need to ruled out (mental health, depression, thyroid disorder ...)
